About Me
I began my four-year psychotherapy training at The Kairos Centre in Melbourne, Victoria in 2006 under the guidance of the co-founders of Soul Centred Psychotherapy (SCP), Dr Kaalii and Andrew Cargill. They pioneered this therapeutic approach in the 1980’s.
Soul Centred Psychotherapy incorporates a wide range of therapeutic forms, including both personal and transpersonal approaches. It is based on the experience of psychotherapy as ‘Therapia of the Psyche’ (Healing of the Soul).
Due to its distinctive training and contextual nature, my training was experiential and conducted in person, making it unavailable for online access.
The term ‘Kairos’ in ancient Greek, signifies the fitting timing of an event or the ‘Soul’s’ time, rather than the linear clock time associated with Kronos.
SCP incorporates therapeutic techniques and interventions from other modalities, including Ericksonian psychotherapy and hypnosis, Jungian psychotherapy, humanistic psychotherapy, and energy psychology, and adapts the interventions to the SCP orientation.
Soul Centred Psychotherapy does not have a particular religious or spiritual orientation. It encourages respect for clients’ cultural and religious heritage.
